Where do you work from?
Though most of our work is managed remotely, being Sydney-based, our CFO is available for in-person consultations, presentations, and important meetings when required.
Are you a ‘Virtual CFO’ or ‘Virtual Finance Department’?
We work as an integral part of a client’s team so, while the majority of our work is done remotely, we consider our in-depth service offering much more than ‘virtual’.
Have any of your clients actually gone on to appoint a full-time CFO?
Yes, our aim is to provide a part-time or interim service, as required, and we’ve supported a number of clients — including Grow Inc and Beforepay Group Ltd — from start-up status to the appointment of a full-time CFO. Naturally, we’ve also assisted with the transition process.
Are you a CFO or a Finance Department?
Essentially we are both. Gillian Rayfield began CFO In A Box in 2009 as a sole-trading enterprise, but it has grown to provide an extensive suite of financial support offerings, typical of those you would expect of an in-house Finance Department.
What if my business only requires some of the services that CFO In A Box offers?
At CFO In A Box we are happy to think ‘outside the box’ and can tailor our service offering to suit the specific financial requirements of your business.
Do you work with businesses of all sizes?
We specialise in Start-Ups, Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) and Rapid-Growth Businesses that do not yet require a full-time CFO or Finance Department.
